Danielle Briere

Maternity Session

I met this beautiful mama to-be several years ago. We worked together for a couple years, and I remember she always had such a calming presence about her. But don’t be fooled, she is a Muay Thai trainer and could easily do some damage if she wanted to! These are just small reasons why I know the love she will have for her daughter, baby Ryan, will be absolutely and unapologetically FIERCE.

I’ve gotten to know Danielle a little more since she booked me, and I am so glad I had the pleasure of re-connecting. I was in her shoes almost to the date this time last year. Our due dates were within a week from each other, one year apart. I was also a first-time mom anxiously awaiting the arrival of my sweet baby and I can still clearly remember all the emotions, the anticipation, and the excitement.

To me, maternity sessions are not just something else to check off the “to-do before baby arrives” list (which I know can be very daunting!) These sessions should be one of the most important moments of your pregnancy. Not because they compare to hearing the heartbeat or to seeing the little feet on the sonogram. But it is important because these sessions are a moment in time that depict your most vulnerable state. They are meant to remind you of how far you got through pregnancy and what your amazing body can endure. These photos are meant to celebrate everything you’ve been through physically, mentally, and emotionally. These photos are meant to be shared with your children and your children’s children for decades to come. They are to remind you that you, mama, had more strength during your pregnancy than any other time of your life. Women are amazing. Mothers are amazing. Our bodies are amazing. And they are meant to be remembered and celebrated during this most precious time.
